About Diana L Perea

Diana Laura Perea is a Mexican American artist and DREAMer based in the Bronx. She recently graduated from the City College of New York with a B.A in Art History. Working with DreamYard's Bronx Art Collective (BAC) Diana has curated social justice based student exhibitions at Sotheby's, the Bronx Art Museum and the DreamYard Art Center. Other community based work include murals in the South Bronx and at the DreamYard Art Center. She has worked for a variety of NYC art and media institutions including El Museo del Barrio, The Campus Magazine, Artbridge and Creative Art Works.

Currently the Coordinator of Exhibitions and Artist Training at Studio in a School, Diana oversees student exhibitions at Studio’s gallery located at One East 53rd Street. Other student exhibitions that Diana coordinates through Studio include the Metropolitan Museum of Art PS Art and Studio’s end of year show Young Visions at Christie’s NYC.

Youth Empowerment is a driving force in all her work and she strongly believes that all youth deserve to have the tools to create and feel empowered to make connections to their communities and the world around them.
